It took the Guinaudeau family nearly nine years to unearth this magnificent plot of starfish clay. Located in the Fronsadais region, halfway between their Château Grand-Village and Château Lafleur estates, this shallow clay-limestone vein was planted with Bouchets and Merlots sourced entirely from Château Lafleur. The idea of producing a new grand cru on this terroir has been successful: the tannins are extremely precise, and the aromatic complexity brought by this balance between the Cabernet Bouchets grape and the generosity of the Merlot carries the tasting through to its long, almost saline finish. A future great wine without a doubt, in the direct lineage of Château Lafleur.

Les Perrières - Famille Guinaudeau

A Grand Cru born from the limestone of Fronsac

Les Perrières was born from an ambitious project: to transpose the identity of Lafleur’s grape varieties — Bouchet (Cabernet Franc) and Merlot — onto the limestone soils of the Fronsadais. After nine years of research, trials, and meticulous preparation, the vineyard was established in Villegouge, in the lieu-dit of Meyney, on the southwestern crest of the Fronsac plateau.

This distinctive terroir, shaped by ancient asteriated limestone quarries and shallow clay-limestone soils, offers a unique canvas for expression. The first vintage of Les Perrières, in 2018, marked the culmination of this foundational work, symbolically named “Acts 1 to 9.”

Composed in equal parts of Bouchet and Merlot, the cru is cultivated with the same high standards as the other wines of the Guinaudeau family. Les Perrières stands out for the precision of its tannins, its complexity, restrained power, and a remarkably long finish — a wine of character, whose kinship with Château Lafleur is unmistakable.
