Domaine François Merlin

Located in the commune of Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône, the estate was created in 1987 when François, after working for René Rostaing and Georges Vernay, planted his first vines. The estate's vineyards cover just 10 hectares, spread across the Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Collines Rhodaniennes appellations. One of the Condrieu plots adjoins that of the prestigious Château Grillet! The estate is gradually moving towards organic farming. Ageing in new oak has been gradually reduced, in favour of Stockinger Austrian oak demi-muids (mainly used for Condrieu).
